Empire Tri Club hosts a series of instructional 6-week swim classes at John Jay College, for athletes of all levels. Oursmall group beginner class has only s 5-8 swimmers per session, focusing mostly on technique and stroke efficiency. Our Intermediate-Advanced level classes are offered to 10-18 swimmers per session, including a mix of drills, instruction and continuous swimming. Whether you’re training for a triathlon, or just looking to add variety to your workout routine, these classes will help you build new skills and confidence.

What: 6-Week Master’s Swim Program: Intermediate – Advanced Level*
When: Saturdays, 3:00 – 4:00pm
Dates: 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21
Where: John Jay College, 59th Street & 10th Ave
Coach: Tyrone Hutchinson
Cost: Members – $180 ; Non-Members – $210
Level: *Can swim continuous freestyle for at least 100 meters. Can tread water and submerge comfortably. May not have great stroke or technique, but can swim for 30 min. May or may not have had previous instruction. Please note, we will also offer a Small Group Beginner Swim Class at the same time!
About: This masters-style class will include a mix of drills and continuous swimming. Spots will be granted on a first come first serve basis. A min of 10 athletes is required to run this program. Beginner Small Group Instructional Swim Class – Spring 2016
What: 6-Week Beginner Small Group Swim Class (5-8 participants)
When: Saturdays, 3:00 – 4:00pm

Cost: Empire Tri Members – $249; Non-Members – $275 (No Drop-Ins)
Level: Beginner – Has trouble swimming freestyle for more than a few lengths of the pool at a time. Stops for a break at the end of each lap. Has trouble with breathing, treading water or submerging the head. Has not had much formal swim instruction. May have done a few sprint triathlons or short swim races, but is intimidated about swimming longer.
Details: This class will be geared towards beginners and focus mostly on technique and stroke efficiency. Due to the small class size, individuals will receive a lot of personalized instruction. Group of 5-8 athletes.
