Meet The Coaches:

ALISON KREIDEWEIS is the Co-founder and Head Coach of the Empire Tri Club.   Alison is a 2x member of TEAM USA and a USAT All-American who has competed in the World Championships numerous times.  She is a national fitness expert with 23 years of experience competing and coaching.  As a swim coach, Alison started Empire Tri Club’s open water swim clinic series in 2011, helping hundreds of swimmers gain confidence and experience in the ocean & fulfill the NYC Triathlon Swim Requirement.  She has coached swimmers in both the pool and open water, from beginner to elite, including both kids and adults.  She swam competitively from the age of 7 through high school in the 200m IM, 50 & 100m Butterfly and 200m freestyle events.  In recent years she’s participated in open water events including the Round the Sound 4k in Bermuda, Martha’s Vineyard Oar & Paddle Regatta’s 2.5 mile swim, and the Quassapaug swim festival (where she placed 3rd in her age group, 7 months pregnant).  And as a triathlete, she has competed in events with infamously challenging swims including Survival of the Shawangunks and Escape from Alcatraz.  When working with swimmers, she focuses on ways to help you reduce your energy expenditure, learn to breath more comfortably and swim more efficiently.

MARTY MUNSON is a USAT Level 1 coach and a US Master’s Swimming-certified coach.  Marty is a lifelong learner who has developed her coaching style from numerous methods including Swim Smooth and Total Immersion.  She has worked with hundreds of athletes from phoebic swimmers & total beginners to elite athletes, to improve their technique, confidence and skills. She coaches Empire Tri Club’s instructional beginner swim classes, open water swim clinics and Red Tide Master’s Team Workouts.   As an athlete, Marty has competed in countless triathlons ranging from sprints to 70.3s, as well as Swim Run stage races.  Marty is also an accomplished marathon swimmer.  Since 2013, she has swum around Manhattan solo (28.5 miles), and has completed the Swim Around Charleston, Swim Around Key West, and the 17-mile Rose Pitonof Swim from Manhattan to Coney Island, and many more.  She has also done incredible cold water swimming events such as the Memphremagog Winter Swimming Festival where a swim lane is cut out of a frozen lake and the average water temperature is just above 30 degrees.  She’s a wellness and communications expert who’s written about health, fitness, and triathlon for outlets including Men’s Health, Triathlete, Competitor, Marie Claire, Dr. Oz The Good Life, Prevention, Shape, and O, the Oprah Magazine.

HARRY NEUHAUS
