Northern Highlands alum builds a place for team within the triathlon

As a former soccer and swimming standout at Northern Highlands, Alison Kreideweis always loved the camaraderie that developed out of playing team sports.

It was something she missed in her post-school days, but fortunately, since then she’s been able to build that same sense of morale via her exposure to what’s often considered a loner sport — the triathlon. The sport changed her life. Not only did she meet her husband through it, but Kreideweis (formerly Alison Cooper) has parlayed the sport into a career.

The Upper Saddle River native created her own business alongside her cousin Jessica McDonald. Empire Tri Club, now in its third season, is a place for tri-athletes looking for proper training to convene, with a team-mentality that adds that much more to the experience.
